What a lovely sunny week to end our Spring term at Maidensbridge!

Here we are at the end of the Spring Term already! It is hard to believe that the children are two thirds of the way through their school year! It has been another term packed full of fun, opportunity and fantastic learning!
Thank you to everyone who joined us at Parents Evenings this half term, it is always a lovely buzz in the air as we celebrate your children's progress and learning.
Thank you to the HSA for very thoughtful Mother's Day gifts and putting on another 'eggcellent' disco that was attended by most of our children in school. Don't forget, we meet on the first Wednesday of every month and all are welcome! We will need all hands on deck to help put our Summer Carnival on in June, so please come along.
The children have continued their hard work inside and outside of the classroom this term and so many have represented the school at so many events. Cross Country, Netball, Football, Gymnastics, Dudley Town Hall concert and much much more. We are very proud of you all and your determination to be the best you can be.
We wish everyone a lovely Easter holiday and we will see you all on Monday 28th April.
World Book Day 2025
Thank you again for the time and effort that goes in to our annual World Book Day celebrations. The children looked amazing in their character costumes and were very good at spotting the secret readers in the annual quiz! Thank you to Mrs Hallett for organisation of the day and her contagious passion for reading! It was great to see so many at the Book Fair too and all the money raised will help add even more books to our library collection for the children.

Dudley Town Hall Concert 2025
On Tuesday 1st April the KS2 children from the Choir were involved in the Dudley Disco Inferno Spring Festival at Dudley Town Hall. They rehearsed all afternoon with several other primary and secondary schools, as well as soloists and the DPA musicians. They then performed to a packed out Dudley Town Hall in the evening. They were true professionals and loved every minute of the singing and dancing and performing on such a big stage! Thank you children for your hard work preparing for this and thank you to Mr Anderson for teaching you the disco classics!

Parent's Evening Feedback
Thank you to the parents who completed our Parent View feedback forms at Parents Evening; we only had 40 responses from across school but every response was hugely positive and we thank you for taking the time to complete this.
Below is the link to the OFSTED online Parent View and if you didn't have chance to complete our survey at parents evening or would prefer to do it online, please feel free to add any feedback you have through this platform because we can view it as a school, and this can be added to at any time not just when the inspectors are here!
From the responses we had; 100% of them would recommend our school to others, which is always great to hear. All responses agreed or strongly agreed with all statements on the questionnaire, apart from a couple of responses that would like to know more information about what the children are learning throughout the year. This is useful feedback for us because we can look in to ways that we can share this with you more clearly, as all of our curriculum is on the school website but that may be not known or accessed by some in our community.
Thank you for your views and your support so that we can be the best school we can be for your children.
SEND Spotlight
This term we were involved in a sensory audit through school with the charity Barnardos. This involved myself, Barnardos, a representative from the Dudley Parent Carer Forum as well as two of our own Maidensbridge parents and we walked through all of the classrooms and other spaces in school to audit where in school children's sensory difficulties may be a distraction to their learning. This highlighted lots of areas where we have catered for children's sensory overload such as the use of calm coloured display boards, use of sensory objects in classrooms, the facility of our Treetops room, a towel on offer in the toilets for KS1 for children who don't like the noise of the hand dryer etc.
It also gave us other aspects to consider such as better blinds to be able to control the sunlight in classrooms, reducing information on the walls around the interactive whiteboard and use of resistance bands around children's chairs to allow children to move while seated if needed for concentration.
I would like to say a big thank you to Mel and Rachel for helping us with this and for giving us their perspective as Maidensbridge parents.
After Easter, I will be asking for people to come forward to be part of an SEN Parent Group for Maidensbridge so that we can continue to work together moving forwards. Please have a think as to whether you would like to be part of this group and I will send some communication out soon.
Red Nose Day

Thank you to everyone for your support for Red Nose Day this term. We raised £173.70 for this worthy cause.
Pre-School Makeover!
We were extremely excited to hear that we had been successful in an application to the DFE for funding to be able to improve our facilities for Pre-school. You may be aware from the media that the government have allocated millions to the development of school nurseries and pre-schools and Mrs Starkey and our Pre-school team worked hard on a bid for improved toilets, learning areas and outdoor playing facilities, which was successful and approved last week! Watch this space, as you will start to see the developments in June of this year.
Employer of the Year and Apprentice of the Year
We were very proud to award Mr Cunneen with his Apprentice of the Year Award and then to hear that Maidensbridge had also won Employer of the Year. This was great recognition for everyone's hard work and in particular Mr Cunneen who has had a huge impact on Maidensbridge life!

Reminders
Can I please remind parents that we need to make sure that we keep all children as safe as possible at the end of the school day. We need to be able to close the school gates as soon as possible when the children have been dismissed to their adults, because we have children still here in after school clubs and the site needs to be secured. Please don't let children play on the field, playground or gym equipment and make your way out of the gate as soon as possible.
Thank you.
Chocolate Donations
Thank you everyone for your generous chocolate donations. Some of these will be used for our raffle at the Easter assembly next week but the majority of your donations are going to be sent to the Ronald Mcdonald House, which is the facility that supports families who are having to use Birmingham Children's Hospital. This is an organisation that is very close to our heart and the Charity Ambassadors; Ben and Lily were keen to support them this year.
Art Club Poppies for Peace Event

Thank you to Miss Beaumont and the children in Art Club who have made beautiful poppies and doves as a contribution to a Dudley Event that is happening in Coronation Gardens and Dudley College on 17th April 2025 to mark the 80th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Councillor Keiran Casey asked the children of Maidensbridge if we would like to contribute alongside many other local businesses and organisations and of course we said yes! Thank you children for contributing to such a special and important occasion and supporting your local community.
Congratulations

During the Easter break, Miss Beaumont will be getting married. Congratulations to the new Mrs Whitehouse, we all wish you a fantastic day!
