Student Leadership
Our children get many opportunities to develop their leadership skills and contribute towards the running of the school. This builds confidence, self-esteem, responsibility and gives our children a voice at Maidensbridge.
Junior Leadership Team
This team of children go through an application process, where they write letters of application to the Headteacher, then successful candidates are short listed and interviewed by the Headteacher. We have a Head Boy and Head Girl, a Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl and JLT members to support the group. These children help with assemblies, visitors, special projects such as Open Events and Book Fairs. They also contribute to the school website through our JLT blog.

Junior Leadership Team
House Captains
This team of Year 6 children are voted into their role by all of the children in school, as they represent each of our four house teams. The children prepare video or in person speeches to their house and then they are voted by their team. The House Captains are responsible for counting all of the house points earned each week and presenting this in assembly. They also support big sporting events and are good sporting role models to other children.
The Green Team
The Green Team are a group of children who showed great leadership skills in their interviews for the Junior Leadership Team and showed a keen enthusiasm for the environment and looking after our planet. This team are responsible for gathering ideas from children about how we can improve Maidensbridge processes and procedures to support a sustainable and healthy life that doesn’t contribute to pollution and damaging the planet. They are responsible for delivering assemblies, attending meetings and putting in to action new ideas that will make us as environmentally friendly as possible.

These children are chosen in Year 3, 4 and 5 and 6 to begin to develop their leadership skills and responsibilities. They look after the library after each class has used it to make sure it is cared for, and the books are well looked after. They will also support with reading choices for children and the purchase of popular books for the library.
The School Council
This team of children are voted for by their classmates. This gives our children the experience and understanding of democracy and how our country works at the highest level. There are children from every class, Reception to Year 6 who are voted on to the School Council and they meet regularly to discuss important issues to children and make changes for the benefit of all of us at Maidensbridge.
