Mr Matthew Jones - Co-opted Governor

I was elected as a Co-opted community governing commencing in September 2015. I previously served on the Personnel Committee and now stand on the new committees and hold the position of Chair on the Curriculum & Standards Committee & joint Vice Chair of the Governing Board. I also sit on the Pay Committee and Finance & Resources Committee.

I am also currently responsible for monitoring pupil’s attainment for pupils in receipt of pupil premium. Over the years I have attended Local Authority training including: Understanding HR & Law, Child Protection, Safer Recruitment, Governors Roles & Responsibilities, Legalities (Pay Appeals), making an impact with pupil premium & E safety.

My attendance is good and being a governor is part of my desire to place a high value on the work of schools within the community. Education is critical to our growth, development & harmony within society as a whole and so supporting this is essential, as well as being a responsibility and a privilege. To date my career has included 15 years working in a professional commercial photography, 4 years self-employed in property maintenance and over 12 years working for Wall Heath Evangelical Free Church. Having a background in both industry and community, I believe brings an important dimension into the governor team. Ensuring that the school runs effectively providing a quality education but with an emphasis on enabling children to be vital and effective community members.
